The Countdown to the Alberta Summer Games Continues

The 2023 Alberta Summer Games are fast approaching and most people don’t know that there are many other events that go along with the sporting competitions!

On July 19th, 2023 the community is invited to come out to cheer on the locally nominated torch bearers as they run/walk/cycle their way through downtown Okotoks and Diamond Valley with the ATCO torch! Game time for Diamond Valley is 10 am, at the arena and Okotoks ‘kicks off’ at 2 pm from the library.

The Opening Ceremonies for the 2023 Alberta Summer Games will feature a wide variety of acts for this exceptional event. On July 20th, 2023 be prepared to be amazed by local acrobats who, as part of this amazing entertainment package, will be performing from death defying heights! You will get to see firsthand aerial acrobatics and artists portraying a variety of sports through their thrilling performances. We will also be showcasing some World-renowned Cheerleaders who will be interacting with the crowd as well as demonstrating their Worlds routine for an added “WOW” factor. Get ready for an exciting day of fun-filled activities at the Heart of the Games, happening as part of the larger Taste of Okotoks community event! Taking place on July 22, 2023 from 11:00AM – 4:00 PM, the Alberta Summer Games will offer three fantastic locations for everyone to enjoy. The first location will be at the vibrant intersection in front of the Elks Hall in Downtown Okotoks. Here, you can look forward to an array of captivating athletic-based performances, showcasing their skills and entertaining the crowd.

Make your way to the second location, Triangle Park, where an abundance of lawn games and activities await. From friendly competitions to interactive games, there will be something for everyone to participate in and enjoy. For those seeking a creative outlet, head over to the parking lot at the Okotoks Art Gallery, our third location. Engage in arts and crafts activities that will inspire your imagination and bring out your inner artist.
