Great reads at library

A warm and hearty thank you to all our donors to our annual fund raising campaign. It is because of your generosity and continued moral support that we are able to keep our doors open. We are all very grateful.

Joan, our librarian, along with the Community Coordinator from Marigold, gave a presentation at the Longview School on Nov. 4. The presentation was about how to access Marigold’s e-resources, Tumble Books and Solaris. Brochures explaining these two sources were available, plus applications for an e-resource library card at $3.00 were available. Tumble Books are a great asset to Grades 1 and 2. Solaris benefits those in Grade 3 to 6. Solaris is a wonderful tool for improving student’s marks and for increasing his or her confidence in their work.

In the month of November and early December, Joan will be having “Snowman and Hot Chocolate Playdates” for pre-schoolers and grade schoolers. Watch for the dates of these on the bulletin board, as they are not yet determined. We also have an exciting Video Game Collection. We have PS3, PS4, XBOX 360, XBOX One, W11U, and 3DS.

Come and check these out for hours of fun On Nov. 15 from 1-2 p.m., Fawna Bews will give an author talk on her two new books, Finding Fawna: Using Cancer for Awakening and Circle of Trust. There will be a draw for an autographed copy of one of these books after the talk.

New Non-Fiction books are: One Soldier: a Canadian Soldiers Fight Against the Islamic State by Dilon Hillier; 99 Stories of the Game by Wayne Gretzky; Natural Medicine 3rd. Edition

For fiction, try The Night Stages by Jane Urquhart. It is a novel by one of Canada’s favourites.
