A weapons threat was made at Oilfields School in Black Diamond on Oct. 4, but RCMP say the situation is resolved and there is no threat to students or the public.

Turner Valley and Okotoks RCMP responded to the high school at approximately 2:15 p.m. for a complaint of uttering threats about bringing a weapon to the school.

RCMP say no weapon was found and there is no threat to the school.

In a video posted to Facebook, Black Diamond Mayor Brendan Kelly said Oilfields School and C. Ian McLaren School were placed under a hold-and-secure for the protection of students and staff, but that has been lifted.

Kelly said a single youth was involved and that person was taken into police custody without incident.

RCMP were unable to confirm any arrests but say there is no threat at this time.

More details will be released when they are made available.
