Old-time Western coming to Oilfields High School

Junior drama students rehearse the Robert Swift play 'The Paper Bag Bandit' at Oilfields High School in Diamond Valley on June 1.

Oilfields High School’s junior drama class is staging two performances of The Paper Bag Bandit this week.

The play, written by Robert Swift, is an old-fashioned Western melodrama complete with tumbleweeds, dry humour and a robbed stagecoach.

It is suitable for all audiences and will be performed by students on June 8 and 10.

Showtime is 7 p.m. on both nights, with doors opening half an hour before the show starts.

Tickets are available at the school's office for $5 each.
