A Remembrance Day ceremony will be held at Oilfields High School in Black Diamond on Nov. 11 at 10:30 a.m.

Hosted by the Turner Valley Legion, it will be the first in-person Remembrance Day ceremony in the area since 2019. Services were pre-recorded and posted online by the Legion in 2020 and 2021.

“We're happy to be back in person, and have everybody be able to come out,” said Linda Macaulay, vice-president of the Turner Valley Legion.

More than 400 people are expected to attend, and Macaulay suggests people arrive early to get seats in the high school gymnasium.

The service is an opportunity to honour local veterans, she said.

After the ceremony, a social will be held at the Legion at 121 Sunset Blvd. East in Turner Valley.
