After a two-year break, Turner Valley and Black Diamond’s community clean-up is back.
Volunteers are needed to help spruce things up for summer during Project Green Day on May 28.
Going from from 9 a.m. to noon, the event will see areas of the towns cleaned up, including the highway between the towns, and along the Friendship Trail.
Project Green Day is a community effort to clean up the area and to protect the environment and all members of the public are invited. Teamwork, local pride and volunteer participation will be on full display during the day.
Eco-friendly prizes will be up for grabs as part of the morning’s activities and a volunteer appreciation barbecue will be served at the outdoor rink in Black Diamond after the clean-up.
Over the years, many dedicated volunteers from all age groups have participated in making the clean up a success, and the Towns are looking forward to the event returning this year.
Volunteers from both communities are asked to register at the Scott Seaman Sports Rink in Black Diamond and can phone the arena at 403-933-5272 for more information.
