Thousands of customers saying “yes” to rounding up their purchases to the nearest dollar has led to a remarkable start for Nutters’ second annual Round Up for Mental Health campaign, running throughout the month of May.

One hundred per cent of every dollar donated goes directly to the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) office nearest each of the Nutters locations. This local impact appears to have resonated with customers in Nutters communities across Western Canada. In just the first week, several Nutters locations reported brisk donation levels, with some stores collecting nearly $1,000 each.

Nutters regional manager Elizabeth Hellebrand expressed her gratitude for the widespread support, including that of local media partners who have generously donated advertising space and time to help spread the word.

“This assistance is helping carry the urgent mental health message to audiences across all four western provinces,” said Hellebrand. “In just one week, over $10,170 was donated to the campaign - it’s simply amazing.”

With the current pacing, total donations could exceed $40,000 by the end of the month, a significant increase over the $23,000 raised during the campaign’s inaugural year.

Nutters’ Okotoks store is located in Southside Village.
