Canada's sweetest fundraiser is returning to the Foothills.

This week, Tim Hortons locations in Okotoks and Diamond Valley will be bringing back the annual Smile Cookie Week campaign, joining franchises across Canada to support charitable causes.

"One hundred per cent of the proceeds from all sales of cookies and pins go directly right to the organizations," said Okotoks and Diamond Valley franchise owner Brad Woolcott.

The Okotoks recipient of the campaign is Baby It's Cold Outside, while Diamond Valley's location will be supporting the Diamond Valley Youth Foundation.

"We already had a little bit of a working relationship with both groups, and it's been a great fit, so figured that we might as well bring it to our smile cookie, which is kind of a flagship program that they would benefit the most from," said Woolcott.

According to the Tim Hortons website, last year's Smile Cookie Week raised a record-breaking $19.7 million, supporting over 600 charities and community groups across Canada and in the United States.

In Okotoks and Diamond Valley, over 17,000 smile cookies were sold last year.

"This year we are expecting at least a 10 per cent increase, is what we're shooting for," said Woolcott. "Anything better than that is bonus."

Smile Cookie Week is happening across Canada from April 29 to May 5.
