Mykayla Bergie — Council Candidate
Firstly, hello! My name is Mykayla Bergie and I am a resident of what is temporarily known as Turner Valley. I am an insurance product specialist for a Canadian insurer, and I hold both a bachelor of arts and a Chartered Insurance Professional designation. A quick list of hobbies includes hunting, fishing, hiking and working on my vintage pickup.
Affordability and amenities are my main concerns with the cost of living skyrocketing. Taxes in Turner Valley have gone up 5 per cent year over year since I moved here, with no new amenities to show for it. A vote for me is a vote for someone who understands that every endeavour of the town cannot cause unsustainable effects to the budgets of our residents. I would also research the possibility of leveraging crowdfunding and sponsorships to build a Diamond Valley Recreation Centre that all of our residents can use year-round. I also believe that town decisions should not negatively impact property owners and I will stand up for those rights.
