Campaign needs to focus on the future not the past

Dear Editor, The Federal Election Debate on April 12 was the most disgusting performance of individuals wishing to represent the citizens of Canada I have ever witnessed.

Dear Editor,

The Federal Election Debate on April 12 was the most disgusting performance of individuals wishing to represent the citizens of Canada I have ever witnessed.

The “Three Amigos” did nothing but attack Stephen Harper who, in my opinion, did an excellent job of keeping his cool and responded to the attacks in a professional manner. We didn’t need a history lesson from the “Three Amigos”.

The thing I wanted to know was: What plans do they and their parties have for today, tomorrow, next week, next year, etc. as these are plans and/or visions that can make Canada a greater place for one and all. You can’t change history.

The one issue facing every man, woman, child, businessman, school board, transportation company, etc., is the price of fuel, an issue that none of the candidates addressed. The Bay Street racketeers use any flimsy excuse to drive prices up that directly impact the lives of every one of us.

We live in the northern hemisphere of the world, have to heat homes for eight months of the year, have to commute great distances to work, etc. It’s time our elected officials realize this and develop a price structure for domestic consumption. We are a producing nation and our natural resources should benefit Canadians and Canadian business first and allow the exported resources to trade at world prices.

It’s time the Bay Street racketeers stop gouging us.
