Canada shouldn’t fall into carbon tax trap

Dear Editor, In response to Sheelagh Matthews’ article on Oct. 31, a climate changes hero would be one to evaluate a policy based on attainable results and transmit these conclusions to the public in a truthful manner.

Dear Editor, In response to Sheelagh Matthews’ article on Oct. 31, a climate changes hero would be one to evaluate a policy based on attainable results and transmit these conclusions to the public in a truthful manner. Currently, Canada’s position on climate change (now pollution?) is a direct reflection of Trudeau’s vanity approach to world affairs. Taking into account the size of our country and the extensive area of forests, Canada is sequestering more CO2 than it produces. Environmental activists, funded by U.S. foundations, disregard this fact and utilize the guilt card in obtaining their objectives. I am not aware of these groups being prominent in China, India, Venezuela or Syria in pushing their agenda. The “social licence” that was to be gained by adopting carbon taxing has proven to be false. Canadians should not fall into the trap of being the saviour of the world for the benefit of the few.
