Re. Domestic violence transitional housing.
I wish to take this opportunity to sincerely thank the six members of Okotoks council who voted in support of our Mayor’s notice of motion re. the potential for a transitional housing expansion within Okotoks’ inventory of developable land.
It came as no surprise to me that we have witnessed a 102 per cent increase in domestic violence cases from 2014 to 2017. Accordingly, I have in the past and I must enquire: has council’s public safety committee and has our local RCMP detachment identified domestic violence to constitute a priority concern in its reports before council?
