The Dewdney Players' beloved one-act plays are back.

The troupe is bringing a trio of top-tier productions — I've Hit an Iceberg by Danna Call, Three Little Words by Lou Moan and Lily's by Caden Arsenault — to the Old Church Theatre in Okotoks.

I've Hit an Iceberg is an absurdist comedy in which a woman is stunned after the head of iceberg lettuce she's about to turn into a salad asks her what she's doing with her life, prompting plenty of introspection and a different outlook on life.

Three Little Words is a play filled with so many surprises that the plot can't be fully divulged, at the behest of the Dewdney Players.

Lily's takes the one-act plays in a much darker direction, delving into the topics of depression and suicide, and as such has been branded with a content warning so audiences know to expect some potentially uncomfortable themes.

The one-acts will be performed on March 13, 14, 15, 20, 21 and 22 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets and further details are available on the Dewdney Players website.

On March 20, one of the three plays is unable to be performed, and instead Okotoks-based country singer Brettyn Rose will take the stage for a half-hour set.

The one-acts are the Dewdney Players' entry into the 2025 Alberta Drama Festival Association Foothills Regional One Act Play Festival, a fest featuring theatre groups from Okotoks, High River, Canmore, Cochrane, Strathmore and more.

This year's festival, which will also feature these three one-acts by the Dewdney Players, will be hosted by the High River-based Windmill Players at the Highwood Memorial Centre on March 28 and 29.

Last year's festival saw the Dewdney Players' Dave Hall and Ed Sands take home awards for outstanding director and outstanding technical merit, respectively.

The Dewdney Players' next full-fledged production, Squabbles, premieres in May.
