The first Picnic at the Piano concert of the 2025 season takes place today at Olde Towne Plaza.

Sheldon Zandboer, Calgary’s finest jazz pianist, performs from noon to 1 p.m.

The free, family-friendly concerts are being held on the third Wednesday of each month. Guests are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch and a blanket and enjoy the musical offerings.

In the event of poor weather, concerts will move inside the Okotoks Art Gallery.

Zandboer is one of the most musically diverse and proficient piano/keyboard players in Western Canada. Specializing in jazz piano, he has appeared on many recordings, theatre and songwriting projects, jazz concerts and film soundtracks.

Picnic at the Piano continues with performances by Foothills Philharmonic Vocal Jazz on June 18 and Calgary Concert Opera on July 16.
