The Juno Award-winning Gryphon Trio is redefining chamber music for a new millennium. Violinist Annalee Patipatanakoon, cellist Roman Borys and pianist Jamie Parker are storytellers intent on expanding the frontiers of classical performance.
On Saturday, Oct. 5, High River Gift of Music is bringing one of the world’s preeminent piano trios to town as the Gryphon Trio will perform a concert at High River United Church at 7:30 p.m.
For more than 25 years, the Gryphon Trio has earned acclaim for and impressed international audiences with its performances. The trio’s repertoire ranges from traditional to contemporary, and from European classicism to modern-day multimedia.
The group is committed to redefining chamber music for the 21st century.
In 2019, the Gryphon Trio was awarded a Juno for The End of Flowers.
As creative innovators with an appetite for discovery and new ideas, the trio has commissioned over 85 new works, and frequently collaborates with other artists on projects that push the boundaries of classical music.
Tickets for the concert are available at highrivergiftofmusic.com and at the High River United Church. Tickets are $35 in advance, $40 at the door (youth $10).
