One of Okotoks' most prolific musicians is returning to her old stomping grounds for a performance.

Jazz singer and songwriter Ellen Doty will be performing at Tribal Connection Market on June 25.

“I’m so excited — I haven’t played there (Okotoks) since before COVID, so this is really fun,” Doty said, adding her last local concert was also at Tribal Connection, where the intimate venue draws familiar faces.

"It’s always just really nice to see a lot of my friends and former teachers from the community. I feel like it’s always a reunion coming back.”

Doty we'll also be recording a new album in the summer which she will then go on tour to promote.

“It’s been really special to be able to perform again and I’m just getting ready to record a new album,” Doty said. “So just been spending a lot of time writing songs and getting back to performances as well.”

Following that, the jazz musician is headed to Japan, where she has toured before.

The show runs from 8-10 p.m. and tickets are available at Tribal Connection Market or over the phone at 403-995-1898.
