Downtown Okotoks is getting an artsy makeover this summer.

Okotoks Heritage & Culture announced that applications are now open for the sixth annual Nooks & Crannies Festival.

According to the announcement, the festival "sees artists repurpose and animate forgotten places with ‘forgotten’ materials, bringing public art to forgotten corners of downtown Okotoks."

The art, made from recycled materials, is meant to educate and entertain visitors.

This year's festival will run from July 20 to Aug. 24, and will also feature a scavenger hunt for the public to find all the artwork scattered throughout downtown.

Learn more and apply to create art for the festival here.
