A Fleetwood Mac tribute band will headline another end-of-summer concert at Seaman Stadium, a show made possible through a partnership between the Town of Okotoks and the Okotoks Dawgs.
Fleetwood Magic headlines the Aug. 23 show that is being held after the success of last year’s first-ever concert at the stadium, which was highlighted by a performance by Eagles tribute band Eagle Eyes.
The stadium, built in 2007 and home to the Dawgs of the Western Canadian Baseball League, hadn't played host to a concert until last August when it was full of people dancing and singing to Hotel California.
“We had a great turn out and I think it was a great way to end a successful summer season,” said Dawgs general manager Tyler Hollick.
The Dawgs won their third straight league championship earlier that month.
This year, concert goers can expect to replace shortstop with Don’t Stop and base slides with Landslide thanks to a special performance by the Vancouver-based cover band.
Fleetwood Magic bills itself “Canada’s authentic Fleetwood Mac tribute show” and will be playing hits from the Grammy-winning band from the 1960s, '70s and '80s.
There will be other performers on the bill, including longtime Dawgs anthem singer Brettyn Rose, who was part of last year's concert.
The concert will once again send the baseball season off in style.
“We have a ton of loyal Dawgs fans that come to baseball games all summer and to provide them with unique events and to kind of cap off every summer is a lot of fun,” said Hollick.
