Applying for burning permits in the MD of Foothills just got a little easier.
Fire burning permits are now available on the MD’s website, allowing residents to apply and receive their permits in a timely and efficient manner.
Prior to the online process, residents were responsible for locating a fire guardian to fill out an application or applying in-person at the Heritage Heights Fire Department. These options are still available for those who opt to not complete the online form.
According to MD fire chief Jim Smith, having applications online should help residents access permits easier and increase the fire department’s ability to track controlled burns and respond as necessary.
The Foothills Fire Department will send confirmation of approval to permit applicants via email. Burning may occur once all conditions of the permit have been met.
