The call came in around 4:30 p.m. and when responders got on scene they found two vehicles with significant damage, one on its side.
According to Okotoks Fire Capt. Mike Dykman, firefighters tended to two patients, one in stable condition, another in severe but non-life threatening condition, until paramedics arrived approximately 25-30 minutes later.
Both were transported to hospital via ground ambulance.
As of 5 p.m. traffic was restricted to one lane northbound with no access crossing the intersection.
As of 5:45 p.m. tow trucks were on scene to clear the wrecked vehicles and the Dykman expected the road to be open again by 6:30 p.m.
