Info sessions set as kindergarten registration opens in Foothills

Registration is now open for fall 2024 kindergarten and junior kindergarten classes within Foothills School Division. 

Schools that offer kindergarten or junior kindergarten will be holding an information night for parents on Thursday, Feb. 1. Longview School is holding its info session on Jan. 31, and parents are asked to check with their school for information session times.

The information night is an opportunity to learn more about the programs and how to register, the school division said. 

Part-time kindergarten is offered at all schools that have the program, and some are piloting full-time options, the division said. 

Programs available include French immersion at École Percy Pegler and École Joe Clark, International Baccalaureate at Millarville School and nature-based learning at École Percy Pegler.

Christ the Redeemer Catholic Schools accepts online registration for kindergarten and pre-kindergarten year-round.

Pre-K students must be four years old by Dec. 31 of the current year, while kindergarten students need to be five years old by the end of the year. 

Options for kindergarten include full-or-part time classes, and more information is available on the school board’s website.
