How prepared would you be in case of an emergency?

To share tips about community safety and how to be prepared should an emergency arise, first responders are holding an open house this week in Okotoks.

The Emergency Preparedness Open House takes place on Saturday, May 11 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Okotoks Curling Rink.

In addition to learning opportunities, the event will include activities and games for kids, facepainting, prizes and giveaways, the Town of Okotoks said.

Okotoks Fire & Rescue, Municipal Enforcement and the RCMP will be joined by organizations ranging from utility providers to pet rescue during the open house, the Town of Okotoks said.

“By taking a few simple steps, you can become better prepared to face a range of emergencies anytime, anywhere,” the Town said.

Emergency Preparedness Week runs from May 5 to 11 and encourages people to take steps to better prepare themselves should an emergency arise.
