Temporary median closures and traffic delays are expected on a highway near Okotoks over the coming weeks.
The Town of Okotoks said Alberta Transportation will start work on Highway 2 upgrades between the Sheep River near Aldersyde and the Highway 552 interchange north of Okotoks on April 29.
The work includes paving and intersection widening at 306, 338 and 370 avenues in the southbound lanes of Highway 2.
Temporary median closures will take place at the intersections and there may be lane closures and delays, the Town said.
Specific information about when the medians would close was not provided.
Work is expected to take several weeks and will be done from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. when possible, with some work taking place during the day.
Up to date information about the project can be found at 511.Alberta.ca or by calling 511.
Highway 2 will remain open during construction, the Town said.
