Two sent to hospital after plane crashes east of High River

A small plane went down east of the High River Regional Airport in Foothills County on Aug 10.

Emergency crews were called at 3:45 p.m. and located the aircraft in a field east of Highway 2 and the High River Regional Airport.

Information about the number of occupants in the plane is not available but an EMS spokesperson said two adults were transported to hospital by ground ambulance with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The plane was travelling westbound approaching the airport to land, but no further details are known at this time.

On arrival, crews reported that there was no fire or smoke visible from the plane.

The Transportation Safety Board (TSB) said it is gathering information and assessing the incident, but does not currently plan on sending investigators to the site.
