Susan Sosick pulls trash out of a stormwater ditch along Northridge Drive during the Okotoks Community Cleanup and Tree Planting on May 6, 2023. Over 350 volunteers registered despite rainy weather.

It’s time to make Okotoks shine during the town’s annual spring clean-up.

The Okotoks Community Cleanup & Tree Planting will take place on Saturday, May 11 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Participants can register beginning at 9 a.m. at the Sheep River Park picnic shelter, near the Lions Campground, where they can pick up cleaning supplies and start cleaning in an area of their choice.

Bird scooters will be available at Ethel Tucker Centennial Park that can be used to help volunteers with the cleanup.

A free barbecue will be held for volunteers at the registration area from noon to 1 p.m.

Volunteers can bring their own gloves or other protective gear. Those taking part in tree planting are asked to bring their own shovels and gloves and to wear closed-toe shoes.

Last year’s cleanup saw over 350 residents sign up to help clean Okotoks’ parks and pathways.
