AN OPTIMISTIC VALENTINE

Okotoks' newest service club, the Optimists, present Meat and Mingle, Taken or Single at the Big Sky BBQ Pit Dinner and Dance.

Be sure to bring a hearty appetite to this event, which has proceeds going towards the Okotoks Optimists ongoing and future programs, many dedicated to helping youth in the Foothills.

COFFEE FOR TWO

The only thing that comes close to making your heart beat louder than being with you Valentine, is a good cup of java.

Lineham House Galleries is allowing both heart wrenching activities with its Coffee For Two which includes a talk on coffee, some of the finest coffee in southern Alberta and a handmade pottered coffee cup made by a local artisan.  The package includes 1 pottery mug, 1 14 oz bag Devils Head Coffee, Free Saturday Morning Coffee, Demos/Coffee Talk and Sweets.

Whether you’re looking to de-stress or just need a laugh, join Elizabeth Street Improv in Okotoks for its Friday Night Improv Jam, a beginner night of instruction and improve comedy. Make new friends and learn more about improve and the performing arts.

THE ROARING ’20s

Get a history lesson in the cultural revolution of the Roaring Twenties. Learn what life was like in Okotoks in the 1920s in this unique exhibit.

SWEET SAMPLINGS

Sample some of the sweetest drinks in town at the Okotoks Hot Chocolate Festival. Participants include 94 Take the Cake, Little Junior, Loop Kids Boutique, Grand Central Bar & Grill, Hubtown Brewing Co., Homeground Coffee, Sweet Threads on Main, CD Bloom Floral Studio, Sweetgrass Deli & Eatery and Okotoks Natural Foods. OILERS HOPE TO DRUM UP WIN

The first-place Okotoks Oilers meet an AJHL Southern Division rival Saturday at the Pason.

The Dragons are sitting in third-place 21 points behind the Oil, but will be trying to prove they will be force to reckon with as the playoffs are around the corner.

CLASSIC FALCONS

The Foothills Falcons are hosting their annual Sr. Boys Falcons Classic, a round-robin type tourney at the Comp.

Foothills has a pair of games — its first action since giving the no. 1 ranked team in the province, the Western Canada Redhawks, a scare last week.
