There were no peanuts or Cracker Jacks, but baseball was back at Seaman Stadium.
The Okotoks U18 Black Dawgs downed the Calgary Bucks 3-1 behind the stellar pitching of the Dawgs' Matt "Tugboat" Wilkinson, who gave up three hits over six innings on July 15.
It was the first game the Black Dawgs -- a top five U18 team in North America last year -- have played this season that wasn't against an Okotoks Dawgs affiliated squad.
The game followed social distancing rules concerning COVID-19, the players were six feet a part in the dugouts, and catchers and pitchers kept their distance when meeting on the mound.
Baseball action continues July 16 when the Dawgs U16 team takes on the Bucks in a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m. More to follow in Western Wheel and OkotoksToday.ca
