Cavalry FC celebrates the game-winning goal against York FC by Cavalry FC forward Ali Musse at Spruce Meadows' ATCO Field on June 24, 2023.

The Cavalry's buildup up to the regular season will close with a game benefitting those who build.

Cavalry FC puts a bow on its preseason on April 6 with a local derby versus Calgary Foothills FC at Shouldice Park’s Hellard Field with all funds raised from ticket sales going to Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta.

The exhibition match, held at 3 p.m., is open to the public with proceeds from the $5 tickets going directly to support the local organization.

There will be a meet-and-greet with players following the match with a selection of first-team members along with prize giveaways for items such as a VIP experience at Spruce Meadows’ ATCO Field.

Cavalry FC’s U21 side will take to the pitch for an exhibition game with Calgary’s IUP Soccer at the same site at 5:30 p.m.

The side has spent parts of March in Mexico as part of its preseason camp with friendlies against Inter de Querétaro FC, Querétaro FC and Celaya FC.

The Cavs, the reigning regular season champions in the Canadian Premier League, return to Spruce Meadows on April 23 for its Canadian Championship preliminary round clash with Vancouver FC.

The regular season opens on the road on April 13 in Hamilton versus rival Forge FC with the home opener set for April 28 against Pacific FC.
