Kat wins

Okotoks golfer Kat Kennedy won the girl’s division at the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour’s MJT Mountain View Credit Union Series at the Olds Central Highlands Golf Club in Olds this weekend.

Kennedy, a Grade 10 student at Foothills Composite High School, had consistent rounds of 81-81-162 to finish one stroke ahead of Sydney MacDonald from Calgary.

“I just tried to play my best, and stay calm out there. I didn’t score great but am happy with the result,” Kennedy said.

The 15-year-old Kennedy was also named the golf team’s MVP of the 2010 Foothills Composite Falcons Awards banquet on June 6.
