The Foothills U13 Lions memorable run hit a Stampede high-note on the weekend.

Foothills, the Calgary Rugby Union league champions, won the Stampede Sevens tournament by dispatching the Calgary Sting 24-5 on July 6 at the Calgary Rugby Park. The U13 Lions are off to Edmonton this weekend to compete for the U13 boys provincial championship on July 13.

The Lions fielded five junior teams in the Stampede Sevens along with squads in the men's and women's divisions.

The Lions Division III men's team gets back to league play in the Calgary Rugby Union on July 12 when they host the Calgary Knights, a 7:30 p.m. start at Okotoks' Wylie Park. The Lions lead the division with a 4-2 record.
