Okotoks Dawgs Academy wins Best of the West

The West was won with authority on the weekend.

The Okotoks Dawgs Academy 18U Black squad took home the Best of the West Premier Showcase tournament title in dominant fashion on May 5 in Kamloops, B.C.

Okotoks topped the Langley Blaze 10-2 in five innings in the tournament final.

All told, the Dawgs won all five of their games in the tournament capital of Canada, and did so by a combined margin of 45-6.

The Dawgs 18U Red team won the previous weekend’s bracket at the Best of the West competition.

This weekend, the Dawgs Academy will be showcasing its talent at home.

The 2024 New Era Mother’s Day Classic, featuring 18U aged teams, runs May 9-12 in Okotoks.
