1987-2023
Brianna unexpectedly passed away on
April 21, 2023 at her home in Calgary.
Born 5 weeks premature on October 9, 1987
in Calgary, Alberta, Brianna entered the world
early and left us far too soon.
Raised in Priddis and daughter of Garth and
Elisabeth Lockwood, she attended Red Deer
Lake School, graduated from FCHS and spent
time atCamosun College,UofA and then finished
with carpentry from SAIT. She was a proud and
dedicated member of the Millarville 4H Sheep
Club for over ten years, both competing at the
provincial level in public speaking and as a
member of the Alberta Provincial Multi-judging
Team at Agribition. Recently, Brianna was also
welcomed and baptised into the LDS family.
Brianna was eclectic and unconventional in
her approach to life, equally comfortable in
coveralls, her favorite Ramones t-shirt or a
princess dress for a dance party with the kids.
Brianna was so youthful, with a love of forts,
fairies, singing and dancing, crafting and
dress-up theme parties.
Brianna had been in an extended abusive
relationship where, ultimately, it was her
absolute dedication to her children that gave
her resilience and strength.
As a single mom, Brianna leaves behind her
five children, Jake (15), Jack (13), Lars (7),
Lily (5) and Leif (3). She is survived by her
parents, her older sisters, Caitlyn Pettigrew and
Gillian Colborne (Luke), and her extended family.
Elisabeth and Garth would also like to
acknowledge and thank Sheri (Garth’s sister)
and Pam (Lis’s sister) for their additional support
to the family.

Brianna’s Celebration of Life will be held at the
Red Deer Lake
