Donald Colin Lamb 87 years was born in Edmonton on May 12, 1936
to Beatrice (George) and John MacNair Lamb. He died Sept. 11,
2023 at the Peter Lougheed Hospital in Calgary.

Don was a radio broadcaster. He worked at radio stations in Camrose,
Red Deer, Saskatoon, Edmonton, and Calgary. His deep powerful
voice resonated with listeners.

Don accepted a position as advertising manager for Pacific
Petroleum, he then went on to become the Regional Manager,
relocating in Kamloops, B.C. He also was the Regional Manager for
Maritime region and he and family relocated in Halifax, N.S. After
leaving Petro Canada, he went on to a new venture. He developed,
built, and ran gas bars and convenience stores first in Black Diamond
and then Okotoks. He enjoyed this new challenge in his life and was
very successful.

Don was always interested and participated in politics. He was on
the board that launched the Wild Rose Party. He spent a lot of time
studying and staying up to date on world events He also enjoyed
talking and participating in the investment world. Stu Curley, his
nephew, and investment broker was Don’s ‘go to’ guy regarding
what was new and interesting, and Don thoroughly loved his almost
daily conversations with Stu.

He loved taking part in his family’s life and hearing their views and
stories and always had time to listen to their concerns and stories
and have some sage comments and advice. He focused on family,
always supportive, forgiving and loving and always proud of their
achievements.

Don is survived by his wife of 64 years whom he always referred to
as ‘my beautiful bride’ one of Don’s favorite things to do was go to
B. P. For wings and a beer. He always gave servers exact instructions
when ordering a beer, “ up to the top, no foam!”

He is also survived by his daughter, Ellie (Ashley Andersen),
7 Grandchildren, Matthew, Charlie, Jason, Elizabeth, Laura, Emma,
and Maxwell Andersen; and 2 Great Grandchildren, Lincoln, and
Emily: his brother Dougald and Sister Janet (Curley)

Don was predeceased by his daughter Colleen (Dennis Laliberte),
parents Beatrice (George) and John MacNair Lamb, brother Eoin.
We will always love and miss him and carry his memory in our hearts.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Oct 21, 2023 at
1:30 p.m. at the Okotoks United Church.
