Forever missed and Lovingly remembered, Daughter, Sister, Friend, Wife,
Auntie, Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma, Jean, at 94, left us peacefully,
holding hands and listening to her favorite music, in the early morning of
Wednesday, March 8th, 2023, after a final Stroke.

Jean was born in High River, Alberta on October 25th, 1928, 4th Child of Fred
and Alice Hartwick (nee  Watt). They lived and grew during the time of the great
depression and the War Years with love and strength.

Predeceased by her Parents, Brothers Grant and Norman, her husband Glen,
Sisters Marion and Gwen, her son Brian and grandchildren Bailey and Roy.
Jean attended Windy Hill, a one room country school house for her first school
years then High River High School until graduation. Jean then enetered the
School of Nursing at Calgary General Hospital graduating as a Registered
Nurse in 1949. Jean then worked at the Calgary General after graduation as
Night Supervisor.

On December 28th 1951, Jean married Glen Thomson Morrison, the 1st
wedding at the new High River United Church. They began their married life in
Edmonton where Glen finished his Bachelor of Agriculture degree at University
of Alberta.

Jean and Glen moved back to High River in 1952 with newborn Michael and
began their years of working and managing Roseburn Ranches Ltd. as the 3rd
generation of Morrisons.

During their years at Roseburn, Jean managed all the domestic aspects
of farm life, gardening, cooking and accounting, raised 4 children,
drove trucks, and happily rode horses to move cattle.

Jean particiapted in many community activities including: UCW, United Farm
Women’s, Sunday School, Summer Camps, 4H, and Community dances and
events at various community Halls. She taught First Aid Courses at East
Longview Hall and attended and represented the United Church, sitting on the
Canadian Council.

Jean was instrumental in having the WINDY HILL school building moved to the
Tongue Creek Country Church site and attached to it to be used as a Sunday
School Annex.

Jean’s gift of leading the Junior Choir for both the Tongue Creek Church and
then the High River United Church caused many children to discover and to
love singing and music and gave those children a gift to carry with them
throughout their lives. She accepted and encouraged ALL voices and could
be found driving around the countryside, picking up children for choir practice
and events... singing with them along the way.

Jean and Glen raised 4 children at Roseburn Ranches. Michael, Muriel, Brian
and Peter, sadly losing Brian in 2008 to a farming accident. Peter and family
continue to run and manage RRL.

Jean said a sad and fond good bye to Glen when he passed away in 2017 after
66 years of marriage, Family and Partnership.

The next year Jean moved to the BC Coast to spend her final years close to
her daughter Muriel and Sheldon’s family, and to her beloved ocean views
and climate.

These were happy years for her and she continued to teach her family, by
example, how to deal with all that Life puts before us, with Serenity, a Smile, a
Song, Kindness and Gratitude to all those around her.

She spent time with family, children, horses and animals on the farm and
enjoyed all that was in front of her.

Jean leaves behind 3 children, Michael (Marge), Muriel (Sheldon) Cullen, Peter
(Ruth).

Daughter in law Vicki, Brother in law, Murray and Sister in law,
Helen Giles.

Also left behind, Jean’s much loved, 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren
plus many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held for Jean at the High River United Church on
Monday, July 31 at 1030 am. Please feel welcome to join us in saying goodbye.

In lieu of flowers please consider donating to a High River Volunteer
organization of your choice in Jean’s memory.

Live your Best Life, Be Kind, and Sing.
Jean, we Love you Forever and Wish you Peace.
