1936-2020

John liked to make people laugh, flirted with all the ladies and was a man of many names....Captain John, Ole Cowboy, Big Bad John, Uncle Junk, Grampa, Grampy and Daddy Friend, sadly passed away peacefully, Friday April 24, 2020, with his beloved wife Betty at his side.

John married his main squeeze Betty, 63 years ago with whom they had three daughters, Jacqueline, Jodie and Jana Lee, who brought dads son-in-law Steve into our family.

He taught his girls how to choose a quality hammer, how to fish, to love nature and the importance of kindness. Dad also taught us all that life is based on decisions.

His pride was in his family. John was the proud Grampa of Dustin (Jennifer), Curt (Christy) and Benjamin. Most of all he had great pride in his three precious Great Granddaughters, Breslyn, Sawyer and Lilly, they will miss their Grampy.

John was ambitious. He worked hard and successfully for his family. He was a self made businessman. John was a man of ideas and put his ideas to work with his companies, Glacier Water and Highwood systems, in Okotoks, Alberta.

John will be remembered by family and friends as a good man, a character unto himself, a loving son, husband, father, uncle, cousin, brother Grampa, Grampy and friend, as well as for his stories. John loved to tell a good story. We remember well!

John was cherished and will be truly missed.

We will be having a celebration of life for John when the world returns to normal.

In lieu of flowers you can send a donation to The Mustard Seed in Calgary, Alberta.
