August 29, 1944 – November 10, 2023

Lynn Lynn died in her sleep at 12:07 AM, November 10,
2023. She had battled cancer for 19 months.

Born in Haney, BC to William (Bill) and Muriel Esselmont (nee: Crawford),
Lynn was the youngest of four children. Her sister Pat and brothers Bill
and Don all predeceased her. Lynn is survived by her husband of 56 years
(David), sons Murray and Michael, daughter-in-law Becky, grandchildren
Alex, Jada, and Jonah, nieces Kerry, Kim, Tanya, Nicole, and Kelly,
nephew Lloyd, and their families.

Lynn was born in what is now Maple Ridge, BC where she grew up,
attended school, and participated in school sports. Her love of sports
led her to UBC where she attained a teaching certificate in physical
education and began a life of adventure. She met her husband while
on her first teaching job in Kimberley, BC. During their life together they
lived in Halifax, NS, Houston, BC, Williams Lake, BC, Fort Nelson, BC,
Revelstoke, BC, Okotoks, AB and Pristina, Kosovo. In each stop Lynn
made lifelong friends and became deeply involved in each community
through volunteering, work, or participating in the many activities she
loved, like golf, curling, skiing, and dancing. As a Real Estate Agent in
Calgary, AB in the 1990s she became widely known for her bus stop
advertisements seen around the southwest of the city “It’s a Win Win
with Lynn Lynn.” Her volunteering included being on local boards for
sports organizations, BC Games, the first Canada Summer Games (1969)
and then later in life for organizations such as Literacy for Life and the
Rowan House Society.

When Lynn wasn’t working or volunteering in the community, she loved
spending time with family and friends. She also had a joy for traveling,
visiting over 37 countries in North, Central, & South America, Europe,
Asia, the Middle East, Australia, and New Zealand. Every adventure,
whether a self-designed trip, an organized tour, a cruise, or an unplanned
detour resulted in a great story and a lifetime of laughter.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

A celebration of Lynn’s life will be held at the Crystal Ridge Golf Course,
November 26th at 1:00 PM.

The family is indebted to Unit 42 at Foothills Medical Centre, the Cancer
Care Team of Dr. Ghatage and medical professionals in the Foothills
region for the care provided to Lynn.
