Margaret Isabelle Richardson (White), of
Okotoks, passed away suddenly at her home
Thursday, August 24th at the age of 83 years.

She is survived by her children: Dawn (Michael)
Gray, and Andrea (Michael) Rose; grandchildren
Stephanie (Chase) Rennie; Joshua Rose (partner
Victoria Hutton); John Gray (partner Jessica
Papp); Jacob (Deanna) Rose; Jorryn Rose; and
step-great grandchildren Coltin and Kristyna,
and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents and
siblings and beloved husband of 45 years, Herb
Richardson.

Margaret was born in Frank, AB. April 2, 1940 the
youngest of 9 children to George and Florence
White. She grew up on a ranch near Lundbreck
where she lived until she went to Business
College in Lethbridge, after that she moved to
Calgary where she married Herb Richardson. In
1972 they moved to the Okotoks area.

God and her church family were very important
to Margaret. She was always ready to lend
a helping hand whenever she could and she
attended church faithfully in Okotoks and
helped with the Anglican Church Women’s group
serving the community.

She was a very talented quilter and very active in
the Chinook Country Quilters association, and many
friends and family members have been blessed
with pieces of her beautiful handiwork. She was
also very charitable, making quilts for kids’ in the
Children’s Hospital and other needy souls.

When not busy quilting she enjoyed hiking in
Kananaskis Country, gardening, cheering loudly
at the Okotoks Dawgs games, and attending her
grandkids’ games.

She loved her family and her grandchildren
dearly and couldn’t wait to hear from them or
get invited to watch them participate in sports
or school events.

Sadly she left us too soon to be able to do the
many things she still was planning. She will be
dearly missed by all.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made
in Margaret’s name to the Foothills Country
Hospice Society.
