We are sad to announce the passing
of Maxine Erica Patricia Spence on
January 16, 2024. A nearly 50-year resident
of Okotoks, Maxine was an avid gardener, an
insatiable reader, a skilled cook and talented
decorator. In addition to her considerable
homemaking endeavours, she and her
family travelled extensively throughout her
life, visiting the United States, Australia and
Europe on multiple occasions.
Following her determined recovery from a
traumatic illness in 2022, Maxine died quietly
in her sleep. She was able to spend her last
summer and Christmas at home with her
gardens, her family and her friends.
Maxine is survived by her husband Rodney,
her two children Evan and Danelle, and her
two grandchildren Lewis and Sabine.
We will hold a celebration of Maxine’s life
on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 1:00 pm at
Snodgrass Funeral Home, Okotoks.
