It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of
Ronald Davis Goodwin in his 94th year, on Monday, February 12, 2024.

Ron was the second of four sons born to Ralph and Edith (Pixie)
Goodwin. He was predeceased by his first wife of 44 years, Kathleen
Goodwin (nee Morgan) in 1999. They had three children, Beverly
Goodwin (Alan Aitken), Brent Goodwin (Christine Roth), and Michael
Goodwin (Amanda Spencer); six grandchildren, Crystal, Lisa, Sheena,
Dan, Greg, and Yarrow; and nine great-grandchildren. Ron married
Marie (Dibby) Stewart (nee Kendall) in 2003, who extended his family
with Marie’s children, Marian Barkley (Daryl), Cheryl Murdock (Dan),
Scott Stewart (Diane), and Dean Stewart (Brenda). Seven grandchildren,
Michael, Deanna, Shane, Steven, Cherilyn, Cole, and ten
great-grandchildren. He is survived by his brother Bruce (Diane)
Goodwin and predeceased by brothers, Raymond, and Arthur Goodwin;
son-in-law Kerry Flett and granddaughter Randee Stewart.

Ron was born in Calgary, Alberta and was raised on a farm in the Red
Deer Lake area. He lived in Calgary for a few years, but country life was
what he wanted so he moved to an acreage in the Priddis area where
he spent the rest of his life. After graduating from Western Canada
High School, he went to work up north where he learned to operate
heavy equipment. This was work he loved. He worked hard but always
claimed he never worked a day in his life. He worked on many projects
throughout Alberta and then began to purchase and subdivide land into
acreages southwest of Calgary. This led to the development of Priddis
Greens Golf Course and its housing development. His final project was
the design and development of Livingstone Golf Course west of Calgary.

Ron loved to golf and travel with family and friends. He enjoyed
spending part of the winter in Kihei, Maui. It was here he invested in
the development of Silversword Golf Course, where he enjoyed many
rounds of golf. His favourite way of traveling was on a cruise ship. His
traveling highlight was the World Cruise.

A special thanks to the doctors and nurses on the urgent care unit at
Oilfields General Hospital.
