1943-2021
It is with sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of our amazing mom, Sandy Goss, at the age of 78 years.
Sandy leaves to mourn the love of her life, Art Cinnamon and his family; her children: Karen Ross (Dwight), Ken Crowley (Jill), Brenda Wilson (Dan), and Donna Christy (Brian); 11 cherished grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and one great great grandson; siblings Carol Strle (Stan) and Murray Feddema (Vi), family members Hilary and Floyd Crowley, plus numerous other family and friends.
Sandy was predeceased by her parents, Cyril & Ivy, her sister, Sharon and her son-in-law Albert Christy. Sandy grew up in Longview/ Turner Valley area with her parents and siblings. She was a tomboy who loved to play sports ‘and hangout with the boys instead of doing “girly stuff”.
She left school early to be married and start her family. She always wanted to be a mother and was one of the best.
Sandy worked hard all her adult life at managing hotels and bars and made many friends along the way. She got to go many places in the world: sometimes with her daughters, her mom, and her siblings.
Sandy especially enjoyed a trip through the USA that Art took her on, seeing many of the country music attractions, that she dreamed of visiting.
She enjoyed going to country music concerts, playing the piano, singing, and also loved to dance.
Sandy volunteered at the Scotties. She was a curler in her younger years and was a Curling fan right up to this year’s “Worlds”.
Mom was a fabulous cook and baker and loved to share recipes. The family will definitely miss her home-cooking.
Sandy will be laid to rest at a later date with her parents at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Calgary, Alberta.
Due to COVID restrictions the family will host a Celebration of Life gathering on July 31, 2021, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Art’s acreage, where Sandy loved to spend her time and roast hot dogs over an open fire.
Memorial donations in Sandra’s name may be made to STARS Air Ambulance.
