September 9, 1937 Calgary, Alberta - November 2, 2023 Black Diamond, Alberta

It is with great sadness the family of Storm B. Alert wishes to announce
that Betty earned her angel wings November 2, 2023, at the age of
86 years.

Betty was born to Alfred and Irene Moody on September 9, 1937,
in Calgary, Alberta. Betty’s first years were spent at the Millarville Home
Camp until her father was diagnosed with MS which initiated a move
of the family to Turner Valley. Betty attended the Turner Valley School,
which is now the clubhouse of the Turner Valley Golf Club. She then
moved to Calgary and lived with her aunt and attended Mount Royal
College acquiring a bookkeeping degree.

Betty loved crafting (especially Christmas decorations), painting,
jewelry making, doll making, loved to read and had a passion
for playing poker with all her friends at the Turner Valley Legion.

Betty also loved to travel especially to warmer climates in the winter.
She had an amazing sense of humour and often had her family, friends,
and her awesome caregivers in stitches. She cherished the moments
with her family, especially her great-grandchildren, her eyes just lit up
when she saw them coming.

Left to cherish Betty’s memory are her daughter Heather Thomson,
granddaughter Cheyanne Caton, great-grandchildren, Cache and
Colten; grandson Tyler (Sheena) Thomson, great-grandchildren,
Harlow, Trait and Tryin (aka Trip); grandson J.R Chad (Candace)
Thomson, great-grandson Hayes, her brother Bob Moody, and many
loved nieces and nephews. Betty was predeceased by her husband
Albert Alert, her mother Irene and father Alfred Moody, son J.R. Bruce
Park and brothers Ted, Al, and Gus Moody.

The family wishes to thank the Rising Sun staff for all their loving care
and the support of our family throughout the time Betty was with them.
We’d also like to send a special thank you to Anjie for always making
sure mom’s hair was looking beautiful. We couldn’t have asked for
better care.

A Celebration of Betty’s Life will be held at Turner Valley Legion
(121 Sunset Blvd East, Diamond Valley, AB) on Sunday, November
26, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow at the Turner Valley
