Re: Mayor says proposed legislation puts funding at risk, April 17
I have deep concerns about any municipality depending on the federal government for funding agreements and programs.
I have heard from many fellow Okotoks citizens that our current council is not business-friendly when it comes to fees for development permits, enough so that businesses consider withdrawing from Okotoks.
To expect the federal government to fund programs, when municipalities shut down opportunities for local businesses, is not the Alberta advantage. We should take care of our own house as much as possible, before expecting handouts.
Make Okotoks business friendly and the whole town and its citizens benefit.
