Dear Editor,
As you know, the support staff of the Foothills School Division (and beyond) are now on strike. Some even think this strike will last the remainder of the school year. I wouldn't be surprised.
Parents with children who need support are getting phone calls telling them not to send their children to school.
It's almost like the admin admits their logical flaws.
Now the children are welcomed back because there are "volunteers" available for support, while professionals stand outside. What is the government doing, especially the minister of education?
We are talking about professionals who take their work very seriously spending time educating the most vulnerable students in each class and you are treating these professionals like dirt.
Quick to pander to the whims of an incredulous leader such as current U.S. President Donald Trump, yet those people who live within your province who pay taxes to your government quickly become second-class citizens.
Keep worrying about the border crisis and tariffs, while children who have trouble regulating get pushed through the system unable to read, write and comprehend the basics, all while you show future EAs that you don't care for the current position by keeping staff on the street.
Wow, great job. Your priorities are right on track.
