LETTER: Storm ponds are a tragedy waiting to happen

It is with a mixture of astonishment and fear we watch children riding their bikes and playing on the storm pond in back of our home.

Dear Editor,

Avoid a Christmas tragedy, parents, and educate your children about the hazards of frozen storm ponds, drains and dug outs.

With the warm temperatures we are encountering, it is with a mixture of astonishment and fear we watch children riding their bikes and playing on the storm pond in back of our home. We stand alert with phones in hand in the event of someone falling through.

We do not know who to call to have the kids shooed off and would do it ourselves if the kids were close enough.

Please stay off the ponds.
