A very worthwhile seminar on settling an estate will be held at the Turner Valley RBC on Oct. 23. Call Tammie Marchuk at 403-933-6010 and let her know you are coming. Reception at 6:30 p.m. and presentation at 7 p.m.

I thoroughly enjoyed John Barlow’s seminar on print journalism at the Sheep River Library on Saturday. I have so much respect for this man. He is honest and up front and there is no doubt, he knows his subject.

Speaking of the Sheep River Library, make sure you investigate what they have to offer. It will amaze you how many of their programs are free.

Congratulations to Anne Vale on being the recipient of the Queen Elizabeth ll Diamond Jubilee Medal. VNC was Anne’s brainchild and haven’t we evolved?

St. George’s rummage sale is set for Oct. 20-27. They are open on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and weekdays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Donations will be accepted on Oct. 18 and 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Don, Joan, Joyce and I went to Carseland for their bridge luncheon on Friday. Joan and Don came home with money again. What a team!

Did you see the sunrise on Friday morning? I am not up that early as a rule and I could not believe the beauty of the eastern sky. What an awesome sight; almost enough to make a person get up earlier.
