Talking about the rodeo I should mention that you will find a rodeo feature in this issue in Section II.

Also in this issue is more of the Fall Programs for you to check out and decide what to get involved in this year. I have become a little lazy this summer and definitely need to get exercising. They say a healthy body is a happy body so let’s get going.

Okotoks has become quite a training haven for ball players year round. The Okotoks Dawgs Academy brings ball players in from 15 to 18 years of age and they go to high school here and play ball in their spare time. The new indoor facility makes it great for a winter program. Several of the students do not live here full time so require billets. The billet family is paid $500 per month. In most cases it is a rewarding experience. If you want to know more please call AJ or Brandon at 403-995-3241.

The Okotoks Oilers Jr. A hockey club is also seeking families who can open their house to a player. These boys are 17 to 20 years of age.

Well I hope you made it to the Highland Games last weekend. Saturday was a beautiful day and the event was wonderful. Came off without a hitch.

The Ceilidh was sold out and the entire day saw great crowds enjoying the variety of events.

Congrats to all involved. It is events like this that make Okotoks such a wonderful place to live.

No need for tears when you flip the calendar to September this weekend as the long range forecast is for several more weeks of great weather. Is it still called Indian summer when it lingers on well into October?
