An Exciting Look at Heritage Park’s Spring Programming 2025

Since 1964, Heritage Park has provided locals and visitors with an interactive look at Western Canada’s past.

Now, as one of Calgary’s most popular attractions, the Park is gearing up for its exciting spring 2025 programming.

Start Spring Break with a Carriage Ride

Heritage Park’s spring carriage rides take place on March 22 and 29. The ride departs and returns to the Gasoline Alley Museum, winding its way through the many scenic aspects of the Historical Village. A ticket to this special carriage ride includes Gasoline Alley Museum entry. With a limited number of rides available, book early to ensure your spot.

Explore a Driving Force for History

Gasoline Alley Museum celebrates the golden age of automotives. The museum holds one of the largest public antique collections of vehicles in the world. Designed with streetscapes, interactive exhibits, and so much more, this is a pit stop you won’t want to miss!

Bison: A Special Travelling Exhibit

Heritage Park is pleased to present Bison. This educational experience allows guests to immerse themselves into why bison are an essential part of Indigenous culture, discover the reasons behind bison’s near-extinction, and learn how efforts continue to restore herd numbers. Enjoy special programming on March 23 and a storytelling session on March 29.

The Delicious Sunday Brunch

A treat for the whole family, Heritage Park’s Sunday Heritage Brunch is always a guest favourite. If you have yet to experience this popular feature of the park, try it this spring. If you have enjoyed Heritage Brunch in the past, it is time to try it again! Relax with friends and family while enjoying pancakes, bacon, fruit, and other delights. Linger over the perfect cup of coffee or tea, or sip on fresh juice as you take in the ambiance of The Selkirk. A brunch ticket includes entry into the Gasoline Alley Museum. Hurry over to Open Table to reserve a time.

A Spring Break Program for the Whole Family (March 22-30)

In addition to these events and exhibitions, be sure to check out the special spring programming that is only available from March 22-30.

Open to all (but best for families with children aged 3-9) learn how to make a stunning take-home paper flower. Speaking of flowers, spring is all about the colourful blooms. How many flowers can you find hiding inside Gasoline Alley? Ask the interpreter at the front on how to take part in this scavenger hunt.

Round out your bison experience by joining a beading circle. Bring your own or use some of the provided materials. Best suited for guests over 12, this is a great way to learn about beading history and design in Treaty 7 culture.

Some things never get old and skipping is one of them. Skipping rope rhymes and slinky races are fun for the whole family! Give it a try!

Try matching songbirds with their calls. Can you match the picture to the bird in this push-button challenge?

There is something for all ages, families, and solo adventurers during March 22-30. Contact the park for more details or ask at the gate about how to join the fun of the special spring programming.

This spring is the perfect time to reconnect with history. Whether you are looking to learn about the importance of bison in Western Canada, want to explore the thrill of automotive history, have the perfect brunch after a relaxing carriage ride, or take part in the March 22-30 programming, all this – and more – awaits you at Heritage Park.
