The Town of Diamond Valley unveiled its new logo on Monday after more than six months of development.

The result of public engagement and community participation, the finished logo is a major milestone in the amalgamation process, the Town said in a May 1 press release.

Black Diamond and Turner Valley were amalgamated to create the Town of Diamond Valley on Jan. 1 following years of work between the two communities.

It’s a lively, new and exciting logo, said Diamond Valley Mayor Barry Crane in the press release.

“Exactly what we hope people will think when they hear the name Diamond Valley,” Crane said.

The Town said the logo incorporates southwestern Alberta scenery and symbolizes the unification of the two communities that make up Diamond Valley, and that its orange “sunset” colour represents the uplifting energy and eclectic nature of the community.

Logo designer Incite Strategies went with a western-inspired font to represent the area's ranching and farming roots, and to represent the community’s values of neighbourliness, volunteerism and small-town charm.

The Town has an online store where clothing and other merchandise bearing the Diamond Valley logo can be purchased at www.diamond-valley.fipromo.ca

A complete redesign of the Town’s website to include the logo and new colours is due to be complete by the end of the year.
