A fire in Longview destroyed one house and damaged two others early Friday morning.
Firefighters from Foothills County’s Longview Fire Station and Diamond Valley Fire Rescue responded to the fire on Highwood Drive at about 5:40 a.m. on May 9.
Flames were showing through the roof when firefighters arrived on scene, Diamond Valley Fire Rescue said in a statement.
The occupants had evacuated the residence, and two other homes were evacuated due to the heat radiating from the fire.
“The fire quickly engulfed the main structure while firefighters worked to limit the spread to the two neighbouring homes,” the fire department said.
The neighbouring homes suffered minor damage as the fire was kept from spreading.
Foothills Fire Department is investigating the fire, and it is not considered suspicious.
Longview is about 40 kilometres southwest of Okotoks.
