Diamond Valley Fire Rescue is urging safe burning practices in rural areas after being called to back-to-back outdoor fires on Thursday, and an advisory is in place.
The fire department said it responded to two separate wildland fires in the afternoon on April 24.
Both fires highlight the ongoing fire risk in dry conditions and the importance of following safe burning practices, the fire department said.
Before undertaking any outdoor burning, residents are urged to:
- Obtain proper permits.
- Understand and follow permit conditions.
- Never leave a fire unattended and always have the necessary tools and water readily available to extinguish the fire quickly if needed.
- Avoid burning on windy days or when conditions are dry, as these factors can lead to rapid fire spread.

Fire Advisory issued following fires
Due to current conditions, Foothills County issued a Fire Advisory on April 25.
The advisory is not a ban or restriction, and the County asks residents to use extra caution when burning. Fire permits are mandatory and free of charge, the County said.
Fire permits will continue to be issued but can be revoked at any time if conditions change, the County said.
If a Fire Ban or Fire Restriction is issued, fires must be immediately extinguished, all existing permits will become void, and no new permits will be issued.
